In Letterland this week we focused on digraph blends ck and ch. We also worked on tch words. The class is doing a great job quick coding, live spelling, and completing word sorts to help them with their spelling skills! Check out our class dojo stories for videos on Letterland lessons.
In reading we are learning about paleontologists and fossils and reading a historical fiction text on Mary Anning a famous paleontologist. The class is discussing story structure (beginning, middle, and end) and how major events impact the story and characters.
In science we learned many new matter vocabulary words: properties, change, compare, heating, cooling, expand and contract. We completed many experiments this week on how solids can change when you apply heat or cold.
In math we are wrapping up our focus on story problems. Students are learning that you can use addition and subtraction to solve the same problem. Next we will start our study on telling time!
Positivity Project trait of the week is forgiveness! We listened to some great books about forgiveness, we had meaningful conversations and activities as well!
