Things to Know
Factory: In our current social studies unit we are learning about economics. For our culminating activity for this unit, the class will participate in Factory Week! Students will fill out job applications and choose a product they want to produce. Some examples are making picture frames, necklaces, or pillows. Students will use their learning of supply and demand to price items and they will be "sold" on shopping day. Students will use the money they earned to purchase items to keep.
This where we need your help!
Track 4 and 3 classes are working together to allow students more choice in their factory job, which means there are a lot of needed materials. If you are able to assist in this please use the first link to sign up for an item. They will be due next Friday.

Single Subject Acceleration
(SSA) is the practice of assigning a student to a higher-grade level than is typical, given the student’s age, for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities in either math or English/language arts. Parents who would like their students to skip a grade level of content in either ELA OR mathematics can request testing for one area. The 2020 SSA Testing Request Windows are as follows: Tracks 2, 3, 4 March 23-27. Testing Requests can only be accepted during these windows.
More information can be found at https://www.wcpss.net/Page/3799. Request Forms are available in the school office and will be available on the WCPSS website during the Request Windows. Contact Alyssa Estrela ([email protected]) or Mandy Hochbrueckner ([email protected]) with questions.
